2022 INFINITI QX60 vs 2020 QX60
2022 INFINITI QX60 vs 2020 QX60
What changed for the all-new SUV?
The INFINITI brand is the Nissan's well-known luxury imprint. Among their many different vehicles, the QX60 has always found itself in a competitive space: that of the premium mid-sized SUV. The vehicle, last released in the 2020 model year, has been re-designed for the 2022 INFINITI lineup. This article will explain how INFINITI has improved on the already-exceptional QX60 for this upcoming release.
The New QX60: Specs
The 2020 model of the QX60 featured a 3.5L V6 engine that outputs 295 horsepower. This is a powerful engine for a mid-sized SUV. As such, INFINITI left the engine intact in the 2022 version, but they did switch out the continuously variable automatic transmission for a more traditional 9-speed automatic. This means that the already nice ride of the QX60 will be even smoother in the 2022 version. The 2022 model come standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available.
The 2020 QX60 could tow up to 5,000 pounds. Unlike the engine, which INFINITI did not change, the company has souped up this capability: the 2022 model will be able to tow up to 6,000 pounds! This increase means that you can attach a much larger trailer or camper to your vehicle. This will be helpful, whether you're moving across the country or just looking to get away for a long weekend.
The New QX60: Technology and Safety
One of the most notable changes between the 2020 model of this car and the new version is the redesign of the interior. The quality of internal materials has been raised, and features are even more abundant. The 2022 model enjoys optional features like heated rear seats, a massage feature for front seats, and ventilated seats for the same. It comes standard with two-zone climate control, but this can be upgraded to three-zone with an air purifier.
This three-zone control is perhaps worth springing for because the QX60 has enough seating for seven people! The top-tier Autograph trim has second-row captain's chairs, which reduces this capacity to six, but with a nice boost in comfort for your passengers. The Pure, Luxe, and Sensory trims round out the bunch.
The 2020 QX60 has a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. While the results of testing for the 2022 model have not yet been released, one cannot imagine that INFINITI chose to go backwards. The suite of safety features supports this. While the 2020 model enjoyed automated emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring as standard features, the 2022 keeps these and adds lane-departure warning and lane keeping assistance. It also has available adaptive cruise control with semi-automated driving.
Conclusion
INFINITI has really outdone themselves with the 2022 redesign of the QX60. It keeps what made the 2020 model great - the excellent engine, safety features, and overall luxurious style - and adds even more things to appreciate. The redesigned interior cabin, additional safety features, and new transmission are sure to impress.
