Staying perpetually relevant is no easy task. Timeless designs do just that. They’re designs that look at home on the street through the duration of the cars’ use and never stand out as looking like last year’s model. There aren’t many car manufacturers who have mastered the art of timeless design. We’re lucky to be stocking INFINITI. Known for seamless, cutting-edge designs, INFINITI stands out on the roads. You can never really tell how old an INFINITI is when looking at one on the road — INFINITI Models age well and somehow always look new too. We don’t know how they do it. It’s like they found the automobile fountain of youth. There’s something remarkable about INFINITI’s design principles that we just can’t put a finger on. 

QX80: The Standout of INFINITI’s Redesign

Just because INFINITI models have a mysteriously ageless design, doesn’t mean we don’t absolutely love a redesign when they come. This is a periodic occurrence with vehicle design. Every few years, there’s a major update in the way the car looks, and it’s often referred to as a different generation of that car. Each model year, there can be smaller tweaks to the design, but the car still largely resembles others in its generation. In this case, the whole INFINITI brand is undergoing a major redesign for the 2024 models. We can hardly wait. The flagship vehicle, the QX80, is the prototypical example of the larger INFINITI redesign. That means a new iteration of our favorite, timeless design. Let’s dive into what we know about it so far.

One of the main things that INFINITI plans to do with the QX80 is differentiate the vehicle from something akin to a souped up, fully loaded, Nissan Armada. This change has many implications. First, to accomplish this, they’re making the QX80 larger and giving it more premium performance specifications! This places the QX80 in excellent standing against the luxury, top-of-the-line SUVs of other brands. That means you’re getting more value when you choose an INFINITI for your top end SUV. The redesigned exterior, coupled with upgraded performance and size bring the QX80 will take it to new heights. The QX80 was already a head turner, it’s difficult to imagine it any better. 

At some point this coming year, we won’t have to use our imagination to picture the redesigned QX80. INFINITI says that they plan to debut a near production concept of the QX80 Monograph soon. With this look at the QX80 Monograph, our imagination will be piqued as to what the changes for the rest of the brand looks like. It’s not every day you get to look into the future. INFINITI is soon providing us with a crystal ball.

When will the redesigned QX80 be on sale? The redesign is going to be with the 2024 model year. With this in mind, it will be available for purchase in late 2023 or early 2024.
